Hi, I’m Jenny!
My family is originally from El Salvador, I am a first generation American and the oldest of three. I currently reside Northern Virginia with the other half of my heart, Jose. Over the years I have cultivated my love and passion for babies and childbirth. When I’m not researching everything from alternative birthing and motherhood, I’m either spending time with loved ones, watching documentaries or working with people on their nutrition, skincare, and makeup.
Currently, I am a DONA trained birth doula working towards certification and also a Lamaze educator trainee. I love babies, pregnancy and I have been researching PCOS and infertility since I was a young girl. Being the oldest of three being a nurturer is something that has always been natural for me, I was nick named “Mother Theresa” by my closest friends. I have volunteered at local hospitals throughout high school and would always beg to be placed in labor and delivery. It’s been very important to me to be an advocate for women and children. During my first pregnancy I researched more in depth about the current maternal care in the US and the outcomes. Being a first generation Latina I was concerned specifically how the Hispanic / minority community was being affected.
After suffering a miscarriage and having a very impersonal experience with my provider I began training as a doula to support women through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Families deserve all the love and support during such a transformational part of life. I deeply believe in the woman’s ability to give birth the way that is most safe and comfortable for her. We must educate women and parents on evidence based choices while being all accepting of what they ultimately choose.
